KVM over IP

KVM over IP is an acronym for Keyboard-Video-Mouse over Internet Protocol. KVM Over IP technology gives you the chance to access the KVM switch, by using an IP connection. KVM over IP connection permits you to control all the computers connected to your network by using an IP connection, instead of your being limited to using a port on the KVM switch. The beauty of a KVM over IP connection, is that you can access all the servers in your network, whether they are connected to a KVM switch or directly connected to the KVM Over IP switch.   • How much of your available bandwidth do you need to sacrifice to this KVM over IP?
  • What type of cabling do you need for this KVM over IP? This particular question is relevant in view of the wide disparity in cost and robustness of performance of the available cabling options, Cat 5, Cat 5E, Cat 6 and Cat 7.

When you are fully satisfied that your choice of KVM over IP solution addresses these questions satisfactorily, then it is easy for you to commit your budgetary allocation to the KVM over IP option, that best meets your needs.
